AVE MARIA, Fla. | The Florida Memorial softball team split today's doubleheader, winning 5-0 before falling 6-2 in the rubber match at the Ave Maria Softball Field. The Lions fell in the weekend series, dropping the series opener 4-0 on Friday.

The Gyrenes scored two runs in both the second and sixth inning to pull away from the Lions, who were held scoreless for just the fourth time this season, producing only five hits in the contest. The loss snapped FMU's 3-game win streak as Lions pitcher

The Lions added an insurance run in the top of the seventh inning when outfielder
Aashana Francis generated an RBI-double to left field that scored
Kylie Enrique to seal the deal for FMU, who earned its 24th win of the season, a program best.
