The Sports Medicine department at Florida Memorial University is responsible for the health care needs of over 400 student-athletes in a dozen developmental/varsity sports. Our full-time Certified Athletic Trainers (ATC's) serve the needs of our student-athletes by performing the following services.
- Evaluation of all orthopedic injuries (e.g. joint sprains, muscle strains, concussions, etc.)
- Therapeutic intervention
- Emergency medical care
Our goal is returning the student-athlete back into competition as quickly and safely as possible. We use a variety of treatments including therapeutic modalities, strengthening, stretching, manual therapy, proprioceptive exercises and sport-specific exercises to help our student-athletes return to competition, healthy, and functioning at their best ability.
