FMU names alumnus Armany DePaul as new Sports Information Director

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | Florida Memorial University announced the hiring of Armany DePaul as the new Sports Information Director. DePaul returns to his roots, having graduated from FMU in December 2024, where he served as the Voice of FMU Athletics.

DePaul began as a sports broadcaster in July of 2022 for the Caribbean Baseball Organization's Charles Johnson Summer League's playoffs. For the championship game, DePaul was paired in the booth with FMU president, William McCormick. McCormick offered DePaul admission to Florida Memorial University to continue his studies and develop his skills as a broadcaster.

From January 2023 to December 2024, DePaul served as the Voice of FMU Athletics, calling all FMU home games. In May 2023, DePaul was named Assistant Sports Information Director, where he played a huge role in the success of the communications department. In December 2024, DePaul graduated from FMU with a Bachelor's in Communications (TV Broadcasting).

In February 2024, DePaul was hired as a writer for the NASCAR-licensed publisher, The Daily Downforce. He covered everything about the sport, from post-race stories, to breaking news. A year later, the publisher launches two shows for him, The Cutline, and No Cautions Given, which are still running on The Daily Downforce YouTube channel.

In February 2025, DePaul was hired as the social media manager/content creator for Florida International University's Master's in Spanish-Language Journalism program. He led the program to its highest social media growth in history, increasing interactions by over 70%. DePaul began his Master's in Global Strategic Communications at FIU in January 2025, which he is expected to complete in December.

DePaul is a credited writer in the 50 States of Short Track Magazine, and is one of the rising stars in the NASCAR content creator sphere. He has interviewed multiple high-profile drivers, including Dale Earnahrdt Jr, Denny Hamlin, and Rajah Caruth. He also served as an ambassador for the Aston Martin Formula One Team for the 2023 Miami Grand Prix. He also serves as a race announcer for FARA USA, a racing series that runs all over the United States.
