Four Runs in the 9th Inning Sends Baseball to two Straight Victory

Florida Memorial University Men's Baseball Teams battled back from being down four runs in the bottom of the 9th inning to beat Warner University 10-9 on Friday afternoon to put together a two game winning streak Victory.

Florida Memorial jumped out to a 6-0 lead through four innings and led 6-0, but Warner scored four runs in the fifth inning and five more in the sixth and eighth to grab the lead 9-6. Florida Memorial erupted for four runs in the bottom of the ninth to steal the win from Warner.

Yoanique Martinez dominated in relief to earn the win.  He threw two and a half innings and allowed just two hits and striking out six in his strongest appearance this season.  Alberto Rosario started the game and went fifth innings with 11 hits, five earned runs and six strike out.
 

Florida Memorial saw five players in the two-hit column as Joshua Matos, Brian Gonzalez, Kristofer Chatman, Casey Johnston and Gianfranco Garlobo combined 8-for-16 with seven RBIs and four runs between them.

 
The Lions return to action tomorrow as they set to complete the series with Warner with a doubleheader starting at noon.
