MCKENZIE, TN - (RV) Florida Memorial men's soccer pulled off its third top 25 upset of the season over #22 Bethel University 4-3 on Friday afternoon at Wildcat Stadium on the campus of Bethel University. Florida Memorial used a balanced offensive attack to steal the win. The Lions improved to 4-2 with the win, as they were able to outshoot Bethel 18-15 throughout the game.

Julio Vera got the Lions on the board in the 10
th minute of the match for his first goal of the season. In the 35
th minute,
Julio Vera picked up his second goal to help Florida Memorial take a 2-0 lead at the break.
Florida Memorial came out strong in the second half as they flipped the field and grabbed the momentum in the early going as
Marcelo Barbosa and
Maximiliano Schendfeld each scored goals to extend Florida Memorial's lead and seal the win.
The Lions controlled the game with an 11-8 edge in shots and an 18-15 edge in shots on target.
Pablo Terminiello made his sixth start of the season as goalie for Florida Memorial and came away with the win, thanks in part to five saves on the evening.
The Lions return to action on Friday (Sept. 19th) when they play Talladega College at 7 p.m. in Talladega, AL.
