Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women’s Soccer Shut out Ave Maria 1-0 on Senior Night

The Florida Memorial University women's soccer team took a 1-0 win with the help of Camila Scobino one goal over Ave Maria University on Thursday night at Vicaya Park in Miramar, Florida.
 
Florida Memorial University honored the seniors at halftime. This year's seniors are: 13)  Johana Salcedo, Fiorella Pellegrini, Cindy Rosero ,Karolinna Garcia.
 
Florida Memorial Lady Lions drew first blood when Camila Scobino headed in the cross from Nina Torres 43 minutes in the first half.  Ave Maria was unable to overcome Florida Memorial defensive pressure and fall to the Lady Lions.
 
The second half was a defensive battle, with both teams making adjustments. Ave Maria only took four shots in the second half and FMU frontline registered five shots in the second half including one that hit the near post and another that deflected off the crossbar.
 
Maria Kecskemeti  played the full 90 minutes as goalie while picking up 3 saves and picking up her first shutout of the season. 

The Lady  Lions return to action on Tuesday evening November 1, 2016, when they travel to St.Thomas for a 5:00 p.m. showdown.
