Florida Memorial University Lady Lions swept past Fisk University 25-12, 25-14, 25-23, Friday evening (Oct. 28) in Non-Conference women's volleyball action. FMU ups its overall mark to 3-15.
Angelique Lopez tallied 30 assists and did not commit a ball handling error, while serving two aces.
Julliana Charris added 10 kills and
Jessica Medina had eight while pacing the Lady Lions with 14 digs.
Rebecca Garcia chipped in a team-high 15 digs.
Florida Memorial scored the opening four points of the first set and never trailed. A 10-3 spurt by the Lady Lions helped lead to the 25-12 wins. In set two, the score at 1-1, but that would be the closest Fisk would get. A 20-9 run midway through the second set enabled FMU to pull away for the 25-14 victory.
The third set was close for the first few points with a 9-9 tie and the Lady Lions went on run to close out the game and pick up their third home win of the season.
Florida Memorial will host Keiser University on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. first serve.
