Lion’s Volleyball Generates Excitement Despite Loss

Miami Gardens – September 7, 2016 marks a historic day for Florida Memorial University (FMU). The Lady Lion's volleyball team took the court against Florida National University (FNU) to be the first team to have a game in the new FMU Wellness Center.

The build up and excitement for the game did not disappoint. The back and forth play of both teams kept the energy of the crowd at an all time high.  Despite the valiant effort from junior Jessica Medina with her aggressive play, and the courageous mindset of Raquel Laing, our Lions took a shocking loss.  Even during a tough defeat, the Lady Lions showed great determination and fight, displaying the characteristics that the FMU student body is known for.  What you can't deny from the game is the overwhelming support our Lady Lions will have this season, after the great turn out of students, alumni and staff filled up the gym, which is a sign of great things to come. Go Lions!
