#22 Florida Memorial University beat Webber International University in one of the best Sun Conference games of the season. Florida Memorial's
Kody Williams was able to hit a time expiring layup to end the game in overtime 91-89. Florida Memorial remains the only Sun Conference undefeated team sitting at 6-0.
Webber International opened the game with an 11-3 run, but Florida Memorial responded with a 17-8 run to tie the game at 28-28. The teams went back-and-forth for the rest of the half with Webber International heading to the break with a 42-36 advantage.
In the second half, Webber International extended its lead to 10 points 47-37, but the Lions were able to slowly chip their way back and tied the game at 76-76, to send it into overtime. Kody Williams surprised Webber International's defense as he went baseline to baseline for the game winning layup, as time expired to seal the win 91-89.
Charlie Nedd-Araujo led the Lions with 33 points and 6 rebounds, while
Kody Williams scored 19 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, and 5 steals.
Aaron Bryant poured in 10 points, 5 steals, 2 assists and 3 rebounds.
Jaelyn Johnson-Coston & Tymon Enwerama chipped in 9 points each.
Florida Memorial Lions will return to the hardwood on Thursday, January 12, when they host Voorhees College with Tip-off at 8:00 p.m.
