Florida Memorial University Men's Basketball team upset nationally-ranked Warner University 93-78, in Sun Conference play in front of a packed homecoming crowd in FMU's Wellness Center. Florida Memorial opened the contest with a 5-0 lead, and then the two teams battled each other in a close contest until Florida Memorial made a run to pull away in the first half. FMU used a 7-2 run to take a 43-32 advantage with 1:00 left in the half. FMU led 45-37 at halftime.
In the second half, Florida Memorial built a 69-52 lead at the 11:37 mark when
Andre Braziel converted a three-pointer. FMU held its biggest lead of the game, 93-77, with 1:00 left to play. The Lions shot 35-of-62 from the field (56.5%), 11-of-25 (44%) from three-point range and 12-of-19 (63.2%) from the free throw line.
Jaelyn Johnson-Coston scored 32 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, 1 steal and dished out 1 assist.
Aaron Bryant added 14 points, 7 rebounds and four steals.
Davon Williams tallied 12 points and
Charlie Nedd-Araujo netted 10 points.
Florida Memorial will return to action on Thursday, Feb. 16
th when they travel to Johnson & Wales for TSC conference action. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
