Florida Memorial University women's basketball snapped a three-game losing streak on Saturday night in front of a packed crowd for homecoming at FMU's Wellness Center. The Lady Lions picked up their eighth Sun Conference win of the season over Keiser University with a score of 70-58.
Florida Memorial spread the ball around in the first quarter and played good defense to close out the first quarter of play up 16-13. After battling back and forth through the second quarter, the Lady Lions headed into the break with a 36-26 lead.
Florida Memorial stretched its lead against Keiser in the third quarter, as both teams exchanged baskets throughout the quarter. Florida Memorial outscored Keiser 22-18 in the final quarter of play and pulled away with a 12 point win.
The Lions shot 43 percent for the game and also made 15-of-23 from the free throw line. Keiser shot 33 percent from the field and were 11-of-15 from three.
Ashley Henry led the Lady Lions with 19 points and 8 rebounds, while
Abreona Cabell added 15 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 blocks.

The Lions will return to action on Thursday, February 16
th, when they welcome Webber International University with tipoff at 7 p.m.
