Florida Memorial University men's soccer (2-11, 2-6 TSC) captures the second win of the season, this one against Webber International University (4-8-2, 1-7 TSC).
Both teams kept the goalies busy as there was a total of thirty-eight shots. Both teams played aggressively, at times tempers were tested, but the officials kept control of the match. Webber had thirteen shots and were the first to score as Enzo Benedetto found the back of the net during the eighteenth minute of the match.
The Lions were fierce taking shots in the first half, many of them missing high. The first half ended with the score 1-0 in favor of the Warriors from Webber International University.
During the sixty-seventh minute, FMU's
Jose Romero assisted
Jesus Caballero as he penetrated the goal to tie the score 1-1. For the Lions,
Grant Peebles made an outstanding defensive play to prevent a shot on goal and ensure that the Lions would have a chance to win the match in overtime.
During the overtime period,
Jose Romero attempted a shot on goal that missed left of the goal. As the Warriors brought the ball back into play, Romero stole the ball at midfield. He dribbled through the defenders up the left side of the field and passed the ball to
Jesus Caballero who found the back of the net and captured the win for the Lions!!!
