For the first time in program history, Florida Memorial upsets No. 4 nationally ranked and second-seeded  Southeastern University by the score of 7-2 on Sunday afternoon at FITTEAM Ballpark of the Palm Beaches in West Palm Beach, Florida.The win marks the first time since the 2012 season that Florida Memorial defeated #4 Southeastern University in a baseball game. FMU snapped an 18-game losing streak against #4 Southeastern.

Southeastern jumped out to a 1-0 advantage in the bottom of the first;But Florida Memorial responded with two in the third as they took their first lead of the night.

Southeastern tied the ballgame in the bottom of the sixth,With the score knotted at two in the eighth, FMU scored on a wild pitch, giving the Lions a late lead. Florida Memorial would strike for four insurance runs in the ninth on five hits, all with two outs, as they were able to close out the Southeastern 7-2.

 Yunior Sanchez and Sergio Chil went seven hits, three runs and five RBIs. Chil, the Lions' DH, had four RBIs alone, two of which broke the game open late.

Florida Memorial's Ian Romano pitched a gem, going the distance limiting Southeastern to no runs on four hits while improving his record to 3-0 on the year.
