The Florida Memorial University Lions (6-6, 3-4 TSC) started a 3-game series against the University of South Carolina Beaufort (5-7, 1-6 TSC) on Friday afternoon.
The Sand Sharks jumped out on the Lions in the top of the 2nd inning, taking advantage of 2 walks and an error to score 3 runs. In the bottom of the 3rd inning, the Lions would score 1 run and in the bottom of the 4th inning they would score 2 more runs to tie the score at 3-3. In the top of the 5th inning, the Sand Sharks would score 3 more runs taking advantage of 3 walks and a wild pitch to take a 6-3 lead. The Sand Sharks would maintain the lead until the bottom of the 9th inning as the Lions would threaten to come back but would fall short when
Raymond Guerrero struck out with the tying run on 2nd base to end the game.
