The Lions avoided the sweep at the hands of the nationally ranked Webber International University Warriors (21-11, 4-5 TSC).
The Florida Memorial Lions (17-11, 5-7 TSC) defeated the Warriors 6-4 on Saturday afternoon at Webber. The Lions jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. By the end of 2 and a half innings the Lions were up 5-0. However, in the bottom of the 3rd inning, the Warriors threatened. The designated hitter hit his second home run of the 3-game series, this time a 3 run shot over the right field wall.
The Lions starting pitcher,
Edgard Aparicio would regroup and earned the victory pitching into the 6th inning when
Kyle Parks came in to earn the save. In the end Aparicio pitched 5 1/3 innings, allowed 8 hits, 4 runs, and struck out 8 Warrior batters.

Leading the way for the Lions was
Jouseph Renovales scoring 3 runs and reaching base safely 3 times out of his 4 plate appearances.
The Lions will be on the road as they take on Edward Waters College on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
