The Florida Memorial Lions (8-8, 4-5 TSC) take the first game of the double-header against Chestnut Hill University (0-1).
The Griffins of Chestnut Hill University took advantage of a walk and a pass ball and jumped all over the Lions in the top of the first inning and scored 2 runs. In the bottom of the first inning, the Lions would earn 4 hits and scored 3 runs to take a 3-2 lead. The Lions would score one more run in the bottom of the second inning to make the score 4-2. Jose Chavez and
Darrin Brown. The Lions finished the bottom of the sixth inning with the lead, 6-2.
In the top of the seventh inning, Lion's pitcher
Christian Rivera got into a little trouble and allowed a run to score. With a runner on 2nd and 3rd base, Coach Burgos brought in
Kyle Parks. The Lions ended the Griffins come-back as
Kyle Parks got the last two outs and the Lions captured the victory 6-4.
The Lions were led by
Angel Colon, 2-3 and
Edison Cabrera, 2-2.
