(MIAMI, FLA) -- The Florida Memorial University women's soccer team played their first home game of the season in a 6-0 loss to Johnson & Wales University, Saturday, September 14.
After four minutes of play, the Wildcats scored back to back goals within 1:30 of each other.
The Lions defense managed to get through another 12 minutes before JWU's Savannah Jackson scored a hat trick and gave JWU a 3-0 lead.
The teams went into the half with a 5-0 Wildcats lead without any shots taken from the Lions.
The second 45:00 of the game proved to be a more competitive one for the Lions. As a team they took eight shots while holding their opponents to five, 10 less than the first half.
JWU only scored one goal in the entire second half of the match.
Sophomore goalie
Garcy Momplaisir finished the match with six saves. Her classmate
Diviana D'Cesare finished with two shots on goal while
Laura Reina and
Thalita Azevedo took three and two shots respectively.
The Lions will travel to Lynn University, Monday, September 16 for a 6 P.M. start time.
