Lions Softball Drops Two Games At USC-Beaufort Saturday

BLUFTTON, S.C. – After having game two of what was supposed to be a Friday doubleheader postponed into Saturday, Florida Memorial University ended up falling in the resumed game as well as game three of the weekend series – getting swept in the program's first-ever conference road series – against University of South Carolina-Beaufort at USCB's Richard Gray Sports Complex.

The Lions, who held a 3-1 lead at the point of suspension Friday, couldn't regain its momentum when the game resumed and ultimately fell 13-3. Game three saw Florida Memorial manufacture eight hits but just one run as it fell 9-1 to the host Sand Sharks.

  • Florida Memorial went up 3-1 thanks to a wild pitch, as Emily Albelo charged across home plate as the Sand Shark defense scrambled.
