FMU falls to St. Thomas in Battle of Miami Gardens Rd. 2

Lions are currently on a 5-game skid.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | Florida Memorial dropped a conference contest to St. Thomas by the score of 95-72 at the Fernandez Family Center. The loss caps a 5-game skid for the defending Sun Conference Men's Basketball Tournament Champions.

The Lions trailed by 11 points on the road and looked to make a run in the second half, but couldn't overcome shooting woes all afternoon. As a team, FMU shot 25-of-68 (37 percent) from the floor while the Bobcats went 34-for-78 (44 percent) from the field.

Florida Memorial was led by guard Rod Boggan and center Emmanuel Umoffia, who both finished with 14 points apiece, while teammates Tavin Pierre-Philippe and Miles-Jordan Smartt produced 10 points each in the loss.

FMU returns to action on Thursday, January 26 as they host Keiser in Sun Conference action. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. at the FMU Wellness Center.
