MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | Florida Memorial scored 30 points in the second quarter en route to a 72-19 victory at Betty T. Ferguson Stadium. The contest marks the second SUN conference victory in a row for the Lions, who improve to 2-0 in SUN action.

Cedquan Smith had a stellar game, completing 11-of-18 passes for 130 yards and three touchdowns while FMU running back
Quino Mauricette produced 126 yards on the ground and scored one touchdown. Fellow Lion
Walter Wilbon also rushed for over 100 yards and scored a rushing touchdown in the lopsided victory. Furthermore, the rushing attack of Florida Memorial gained nearly 500 yards and was virtually unstoppable, as the FMU offense picked up nearly 40 first downs on the afternoon. Overall, FMU's offense generated nearly 800 yards of total offense against Warner.
On the defensive end, FMU defensive end
Philman Roundtree led the team with nine total tackles, including six solo tackles. However, it was Florida Memorial linebacker
Kaven Mwikuta that made a monumental play midway through the second quarter with Warner's offense pinned deep in their own territory. The Alabama Crimson Tide transfer leaped into the air and produced a pick-6 that was one of four touchdowns scored for the Lions in the second quarter.
FMU returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 14 as they travel across the street to face St. Thomas in the Battle of Miami Gardens. Kickoff is slated for 12 noon at AutoNation Field.
