MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | Florida Memorial dropped a non-conference competition by the score of 10-3 to Florida National at the Harry T. Moore Baseball Field.

FNU scored the first run of the ball game in the top of the first inning before the Lions responded in the bottom stanza when Luis Ruiz produced a sacrifice RBI that scored Jalen Young. However, in the second inning, back-to-back errors allowed the Conquistadors to pour in four runs as they never looked back.

FMU added runs in the seventh and ninth inning when Allan Berrios generated a sacrifice RBI to bring home Gabriel Marinez, but it wasn't enough as the Lions fall to 3-3 on the year.

Clemente Orosco (0-1) got the nod on the mound and allowed three hits, four runs and struck out one Conquistador batter while teammate Aubrey Yarbrough came in relief and pitched four total innings, giving up six runs, two hits and struck out three, but also hit four Conquistador batters.

Samuel Briceno pitched the final four innings and struck out three FNU batters while allowing no runs and just four hits.

The Lions return to action on Friday, February 24 as they travel to Georgia to face Middle Georgia State University in a weekend series. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. in Cochran, Ga.
