MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | Florida Memorial splits the doubleheader against the Byrant-Stratton Bobcats Tuesday afternoon at the Harry T. Moore Baseball Field, dropping game one while taking care of business in game two.

FMU 5 – Bryant-Stratton 9 
The Bobcats scored seven runs in the top of the second inning, including four walks with bases loaded that resulted in numerous runs. The Lions responded with a run by Ivan Zambrano in the bottom of the second, closing the gap to 7-1 going into the third.  A sacrifice fly-RBI by Raymond Rivera in the bottom of the third allowed Jalen Young to score, closing the gap to 7-2.
In the sixth inning, two RBIs by Nathan Harris brought Luis Velandia and Rivera around the diamond to give the Lions their third and fourth runs of the game. An error by the Bobcats brought home Ulises Rodgriguez to cut the deficit to two runs heading into the seventh. The Bobcats scored the final two runs of the game in the top of the seventh, ending the Lions five game win streak with a 9-5 victory.
Lions pitcher Aubrey Yarbrough started the game and allowed three runs and four walks. Diego Coss came in relief in the second inning and allowed two hits, four runs, and four walks. Kelvin Feliciano relieved Coss in the second inning, allowing three hits, two runs, three walks and struck out one Bobcat in five innings. Jerryk Caceras came in relief of Feliciano in the seventh inning to close the game.

FMU 6 – Bryant-Stratton 0
The Lions scored their first runs in the bottom of the first, off two RBIs by Jalen Young which scored Rivera and Rodriguez. An RBI-single by Gianni Tusa brought home Luis Ruiz for the Lions' third run of the game. A three-RBI by Reinaldo Prieto brought Gianni Tusa, Nathan Harris and Young around the diamond giving the Lions a 6-0 lead. Neither team scored a run in the final six innings, resulting in the shutout win for the Lions, splitting the doubleheader with the Bobcats.
Aaron Knowles (1-0) earned his first victory of the season and pitched a complete game for the Lions, allowing six hits, one walk and four strikeouts in the win.
The Lions return to action on Friday, March 17 as they host Ave Maria in the conference opener. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Harry T. Moore Baseball Field.
