No. 16 Lions slip up at home vs. Keiser 78-74

FMU led by as many as 14 points in the first half.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | No. 16 Florida Memorial could not capitalize from the free throw line, missing a total of 12 foul shots as they fell 78-74 to Keiser at the FMU Wellness Center.

Despite leading by 14 points in the first half, FMU squandered a golden chance to win their second-straight conference game after falling to Webber, but the Seahawks pulled away late in the second half with multiple runs throughout the contest.

FMU was led by guard Derrius Ward who finished with a game-high 21 points on 7-of-15 shooting from the field, including 2-for-5 from downtown to go along with five boards while teammate Jaiden Guice produced a season-high 14 points. Point guard Chanze Cruesoe added 10 points, five assists and five boards in the loss.

Post-player Latavious Mitchell finished with just five points and four rebounds in 13 minutes of action before fouling out of the game.

The Lions return to action on Thursday, February 1 as they host New College of Florida. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. at the FMU Wellness Center.
