JACKSON, Miss. | Despite trailing by as many as 12 points in the opening half, No. 22 Florida Memorial University survived a tough season opener on the road, storming back for a 75-70 victory over Tougaloo at Kroger Gymnasium in game one of the Tougaloo College Classic.
FMU produced four scorers in double figures, including a team-high 18 points from newcomer
Terrin Hamilton, who also added nine rebounds and three steals in the victory, shooting 7-of-15 from the field while teammate
Calvin Payton finished with 17 points and three assists on 5-of-12 shooting from the field, including 4-of-8 from downtown.

Felix Uadiale finished with a teams' only double-double, scoring 10 points and adding 11 rebounds before fouling out of the contest. Fellow Lion
Latavious Mitchell added 11 points and nine boards in the victory, which lifts FMU to 1-0 on the year.
As a team, FMU out-rebounded Tougaloo 43-38 while shooting nearly 50 percent from the field.
The Lions return to action on Friday, October 25 as they face Rust College in game two of the Tougaloo College Classic. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. at Kroger Gymnasium.
