PANAMA CITY, Fla. | No. 15 Florida Memorial University fell in heartbreaking fashion 69-67 to Faulkner (Ala.) at the Billy Harrison Fieldhouse in game two of the Battle at the Beach. The contests drops the Lions to 7-3 overall heading into Thanksgiving break.

With seconds remaining on the clock to end regulation, with FMU trailing by two, guard Calvin Payton misread a fellow Lion and threw the ball over the head of teammates, turning the ball over as the clock expired.

FMU finished with four scorers in double figures, including three with 15. Payton produced 15 points, six boards, two assists, two steals and two blocks while teammate Latavious Mitchell also tied a team-high with 15 points, seven rebounds, four assists and one block. However, graduate forward Felix Uadiale produced a double-double, scoring 15 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in the loss.

As a team, FMU's bench was uncharacteristically outscored 22-15 by the Eagles, despite the Lions dominating the glass 49-28.

Florida Memorial University returns to the court on Saturday, December 14 as they host Indiana Wesleyan. Tip-off is slated for 4 p.m. at the FMU Wellness Center.
