MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | Florida Memorial University dominated its home opener, defeating Jarvis Christian 87-33 at the FMU Welness Center.
Once the Lions took the lead they never looked back, leading for all but 12 seconds of the game. The team had five players score 10 or more points, with senior
Kamesha Moore leading the way with 17 points, going 6-of-13 from the field and seven rebounds. Senior
Agar Farres Garcia finished the game with 15 points, going 6-of-11 from the field and nine rebounds. Teammates
Ebony Black-Smith and
Kalea Rainey each put together 12-point performances, while
Brittany Rivera chipped in 11 points for FMU. Smith led the team in blocks with five and rebounds with 11, earning a double-double in the game.
As a team, FMU finished with 24 steals.
The win advances FMU to 3-0 on the season.
The Lions return to action Saturday, November 9, when they'll travel to Holly Springs, Miss. to take on Rust. Tip-off is slated for 6:30 p.m.
