LAKELAND, Fla. | Florida Memorial cruised to an 84-75 victory over Southeastern at the Furnace. FMU's 21st victory of the season resulted in the season sweep over the Fire as the Lions improved to 8-5 in SUN conference competition.
FMU guard and Philly native
Derrius Ward took command and led the charge with a team-high 21 points on 8-of-17 shooting from the field, including two 3-pointers. Ward connected on all three of his foul shots while teammate
Jaiden Guice nailed five 3-pointers in the road victory.
Lions forward
Felix Uadiale produced a game-high nine rebounds while point guard Chance Cruesoe chipped in with nine points, seven dimes, six boards and one steal in 34 minutes of action.
As a team FMU dominated the glass with 39 rebounds compared to 30 for its opponent. Florida Memorial's bench was magnificent, outscoring the Fire's bench 52-27.
The Lions return to action on Saturday, February 24 as they face Keiser on the road in the regular season finale. Tip-off is slated for 4 p.m. in West Palm Beach, Fla.
