No. 17 Lions fall at home to STU in Battle of Miami Gardens

As a team, FMU shot less than 30 percent from the floor.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | After leading by 11 points in the first half, No. 17 FMU fell to crosstown rival St. Thomas by the score of 90-57 in the Battle of Miami Gardens at the FMU Wellness Center.

FMU's shooting woes became the story of the game as the team shot less than 30 percent from the floor. Guard Derrius Ward was the lone Lion to score in double figures as he produced 15 points while teammate Latavious Mitchell scored seven points and grabbed 15 boards in the lopsided loss.

Florida Memorial falls to 5-4 in SUN play.

The Lions return to action on Saturday, Feb. 10 as they hit the road to face Coastal Georgia. Tip-off is slated for 4 p.m. in Georgia.
