VIERA, Fla. | Florida Memorial split a doubleheader at the Space Coast Complex, defeating SUNY Cobleskill 9-4 in game one, then falling to Hastings 5-4 in in game two.

Leneaya Silva hit a sacrifice-fly RBI towards center field that scored
Ciera Taylor for the first run of the game.
After two scoreless innings, FMU poured in five runs in the top of the fourth inning when outfielder
Aashana Francis generated an RBI-single to bring home freshman
Kylie Enrique. Moments later, shortstop
Heidy Olivo produced a major RBI-triple to left field that allowed
Ariyuana DuPont, Francis and
Kayla Jade Morales to touch home plate, bringing the score to 5-0. Olivo later scored on a wild pitch, extending the lead to 6-0.
However, SUNY Cobleskill scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth, cutting FMU's lead to just two run. In response, the Lions pulled away with runs in the top of the sixth inning to pull away when Taylor knocked a two-run home run to center field.

Breana Morales was credited with victory, striking out six batters while allowing four earned runs in a complete game.

The Lions return to action on Friday, March 22 as they host Southeastern in conference action. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. at Walt Frazier Park at Carol City Park.
