MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | Florida Memorial fell to St. Thomas in a weekend series in the Battle of Miami Gardens at Walt Frazier Park at Carol City.
Game 1
St. Thomas 15 - Florida Memorial 4 (5 innings)
The Bobcats took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first before both teams went scoreless in the second. FMU gave up four runs in the top of the third inning before responding in the bottom frame when shortstop
Heidy Olivo generated an RBI-double to left field, scoring

St. Thomas went on to score 10 straight runs before the Lions could answer back in the bottom of the fifth, when Olivo generated a near-duplicate hit to left field, once again scoring Taylor. Moments later, Kayla Morales singled to left field, eventually scoring Olivo. Morales would end up scoring on an fielding error, but it was too little too late for the Lions as the game ended early due to the run-rule.

The Lions trailed 3-0 in this low-scoring affair before getting on board in the bottom of the third inning, when Olivo produced an RBI-single to center field, scoring the speedster
Bryanna Curry. However, FMU's offense stalled, generating only five total hits in the loss.
Lions pitcher Gabriella Pinto earned the loss, giving up three earned runs while striking out three Bobcat batters.
