MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | No. 22 Florida Memorial University won its fifth straight game in dramatic fashion for a thrilling 61-57 victory over St. Thomas at the Fernandez Family Center in the Battle of Miami Gardens.
The Lions produced three scorers in double figures, including
Terrin Hamilton, who generated a game-high 20 points and eight rebounds while teammate
Latavious Mitchell filled the stat sheet with 16 points, seven steals, four rebounds and four assists.
Post-player
Mohamad Diallo chipped in with 12 points, three rebounds and two blocks in the victory.
As a team, FMU dominated with 40 points in the paint compared to just 24 for their opponents. The Lions also scored 20 points off of 20 Bobcat turnovers, which proved to be the different late in the contest.
FMU returns to the court on Saturday, January 18 as they travel north to face No. 15 Keiser in an NAIA Top-25 match-up. Tip-off is slated for 4 p.m. at the Student Life Center in West Palm Beach, Fla.
