BABSON PARK, Fla. | Florida Memorial University took care of business against Webber, defeating the Warriors 2-1 at Babson Park. Despite facing pressure at the net, the Lions were more efficient throughout the match, resulting in the win.

FMU opened scoring early, when senior Jada Samuels scored her third goal of the season in the seventh minute to put the Lions on top. The Warriors answered with the match-tying goal in the 14th minute to even the score going into the half.

Still tied at 1-1, the Lions got a penalty kick in the 75th minute, which allowed freshman Isabella Landin to find the back of the net for the first time this season. The goal proved to be the match-winner, as the Lions held on in the final 15 minutes to take home their second conference win of the season.

Goalkeeper Isabella Rueda played all 90 minutes, finishing with nine saves and allowing the lone goal.

The win advances FMU to 4-3-3 on the year and 2-2 in conference play.

The Lions return to action Saturday, October 18, when they'll host Ave Maria in SUN Conference play. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. at Orange Bowl Field.
