WAXAHACHIE, Texas | Florida Memorial University dropped its second game in back-to-back days, this time to No. 18 Nelson 90-76.The Lions had a one-point lead in the first half, and were exchanging the lead with the Lions, but inconsistency throughout the second half meant Nelson pulled away from FMU, handing them their second straight loss.
Junior
Devin Carter led the team with 19 points, going 7-of-17 from the field, and 3-of-8 from the three-point line. Graduate student
Jeffrey Selden finished with 15 points, along with six rebounds. Sophomore
Cameron Noel added 13 points for FMU, while teammate
Maximo Moratinos chipped in 10 points. Junior
Micah Morgan led the team in rebounds with seven and in steals with four.
The loss drops FMU to 7-4 on the season.
The Lions return to action Monday, December 22, when they'll play Fort Lauderdale in their second match-up of the season. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. in Lauderhill, Fla.
