MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | Despite keeping it close throughout the match, Florida Memorial University fell to Ave Maria 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-21) at the FMU Wellness Center.
The Lions were led by sophomore
L'Fe Roberts, who had 15 kills on the night, while outside hitter
Desiree Donald added eight kills for the team. Outside hitter
Serena Edwards led the team in aces with three on the night. Freshman
Aviyah Henderson led in blocks with 13, while setter
Carolina Alonso finished with 12. Sophomore
Isabella Cardona led the team in assists with 13. Edwards led the team in digs, with 12, while Cardona chipped in nine for FMU.
The loss drops FMU to 0-10 on the year and 0-2 in conference play.
Florida Memorial University returns to action Saturday, September 13, when they'll host New College of Florida for SUN Conference action. First serve is slated for 2 p.m. at the FMU Wellness Center.
