CLEVELAND, Ga. | The wait is over, Florida Memorial University snapped a two-year winless streak by taking the victory against Spartanburg Methodist 3-2.
The pair of
Isabella Cardona and
Serena Edwards scored the win in their game (11-21, 21-18, 17-15) to kick things off.
Leila Betancourt and
Joemyrah Clendinen won their match as well, in dominating fashion, 21-9, 21-10. The fifth matchup was a forfeit, meaning the Lions took home their first win of the season.
The win moves FMU to 1-11 on the year and 1-7 in conference play.
FMU returns to action Friday, March 20, for a match against Barry. First serve is slated for noon at the Lake Jem Farms Beach Court Complex.
