John Metellus joined the FMU Men's Basketball team in the fall of 2022. 
Metellus chose FMU because he always wanted to go to an HBCU, play for Coach Mendoza, and to experience the university life.

Born as John Junior Metellus in Miami, FL.
Born to Jean Metellus and  Andree Metellus. 
Played basketball for Northwest Christian Academy for 2 years where he managed to win both the Golden Eagle Award and the Most Improved Player Award in his junior year of high school.
Graduate of Northwest Christian Academy.
Graduate of Miami Dade College.
