Coach Gregory Stanback is going into his fourth season as the Head Women's Basketball Coach at Florida Memorial University after spending 8 years as the assistant coach to Coach Kenneth Marshall. Coach Stanback has 20 years of experience coaching basketball at the high school and collegiate level. In 2009 and 2011 Coach Stanback helped guide Florida Memorial Lady Lions to two Conference titles in The Sun Conference. "It is my goal to bring back the Championship drive to the program," Stanback said. "We will bring in players to our program that expects success and are willing to make the sacrifices to accomplish championship goals."
His path to Florida Memorial began at Slippery Rock University, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Health and Physical Education. While attending SRU he spent two years as a student manager and later as a student assistant basketball coach for the Lady Rockets (1993-94). He left Slippery Rock to take a full time Teaching and assistant coaching position at Western High School before moving on to Miramar High School as the head Coach in 1999. As Head Coach at MHS he accumulated the most wins in school history with a record of 149-64. Under his guidance at Miramar, he lead his teams to two District Titles, one Regional Finals, Girls Big 8 Runner-up and received two Coach of the year Awards. Coach Stanback has worked Basketball camps for the Miami Heat, Dewayne Wade, Chris Paul, Florida Gators, University of Pittsburgh, Tennessee Lady Vols, and the predigests Five-Star Basketball.
Coach Stanback earned a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Slippery Rock University in December of 1994. While completing his undergraduate work. In 1999 Coach Stanback received his Masters degree from Nova Southeastern University in Davie, FL.
Coach Stanback is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He graduated with honors from Aliquippa High School, where he was a four-year letter winner in track. He is Married to Venante Stanback and has three children.
Coach Stanback is also CEO of Stanback Athletics Consultants where they offer athletic training and athletic apparel.
