Biography
Amealia "Speedy" Smith joined the FMU women's soccer team in fall of 2021.
A native to Spanish Town, Jamaica, Speedy graduated from Miramar High School in Miramar, Fla. in 2020. She competed on the soccer team under head coach Idanya Clark and the flag football team under head coach Darien Benjamin. In soccer, she was named player of the year and rookie of the year, while in flag football she was named most valuable player.
Speedy played for the Heat Strikers FC team in Pembroke Pines, Fla. for two years. The team won the Miami cup and were Showcase runner-ups.
Speedy chose FMU because she loves the HBCU culture. Her favorite part about FMU is it's like a mini community.
