Marc Lue Young joined the FMU family as assistant soccer coach in July of 2021 before moving to head women's soccer coach in July of 2022.
Last season, Lue Young guided the Lions to a 4-11-3 record, narrowly missing out on the Sun Conference Tournament. However, Young led the program to its most successful season in the past decade by having the best start in program history, achieving the first conference win since 2016, and a defense which allowed the fewest goals scored by opponents in the past decade.
After just one recruiting class and reshaping the roster, Coach Lue Young has significantly improved the women’s soccer program at FMU.
Lue Young first joined the Florida Memorial coaching staff as the men’s soccer assistant coach in 2021 after 4 successful years at Pembroke Pines Charter High School. In his four years at Pines Charter he has accumulated a 71-18-5 record and a .80 winning percentage. He took the program to new heights, leading the team to the State Finals and two State Semi-finals, while winning four consecutive district championships. For his success on the field, he was recognized as the 5A Coach of the Year.
With a keen eye for developing talent and getting players to the next level, Coach Lue Young has produced numerous college commits as the ECNL Director and College Director at Supreme FC in Miramar, Florida. Lue Young led Supreme FC to their first ECNL title with a record of 15-1-2, and in three seasons has accumulated a 35-8-6 record with a .81 winning percentage.
Lue Young has produced 12 All-conference players and coached and developed the ECNL All-American and Conference Player of the Year, Shayne-Michael Thompson (Brown University). Lue Young has developed many talented players from South Florida who have achieved collegiate success at the NCAA Division 1 level, Carlos Zambrano (Syracuse), Alexander Champagne (Temple), Rafael Matiello (UC Davis), Andre Casas (Inter Miami), Andres Cabrero (Holy Cross), Keeyen Deane (Georgia Southern), Daniel Copeland Toro (FGCU) among many talented NCAA D2 and D3 commitments.
In addition to his many coaching and playing accolades, Lue Young holds an USSF B License and a bachelors degree in Physical Education and Sport Management from Florida International University.
