Florida Memorial men's soccer picked up a 2-1 win over Webber International University on Wednesday afternoon at Warrior Field in Babson Park, Florida. The Lions improved to 2-4 with the win.
The Lions started the match with 11 shots in the first half, but Webber International drew first blood in the 13
th minute of the half. Florida Memorial's
Lozano Martin found the back of the net less than 30 seconds later, to tie the game 1-1.
In the 72
nd minute of the game,
Franco Soldati slipped a pass through Webber International's defense to score the second goal of the game.
Lozano Martin got the assist for the goal to take a 2-1 lead.
The Lions controlled the second half of the game with a 12-11 edge in shots and only allowed one goal in the first half.
Alejandro Quiriti started the season as goalie for Florida Memorial and came away with the win, thanks in part to five saves on the afternoon.
The Lions return to action Saturday (Oct. 15
th) when they host Warner University at Vizcaya Park at 5p.m.
