Men's Baseball Team Splits Weekend Series with Trinity Baptist CollegeFlorida Memorial University's Baseball team earned a split of Saturday's doubleheader with Trinity Baptist College, winning game one of two in the series. The Lions won the opener 6-1, and fell in the afternoon game 5-1.
Game 1The Lions got off to a fast start in game one, scoring four runs in the first four innings and added two more in the 5th inning. Trinity Baptist's only run came in the 1st inning.
Ruben Sanchez pitched six scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and striking out ten with one walk in the first game, to pick up the win on the mound.
Daniel Morales led the charge with two runs in the game.
Cesar Temes went 1-for-1 with 2 RBI's and one run scored.
Gianfranco Garlobowent went 2-for-4 with 1 RBI and one run.
Emilio Marrufo added two runs for the Lions.
Game 2 The Lions saw a 1-0 lead evaporate in the bottom of the third, as Trinity Baptist scored five runs in the final three innings.
Ian Romano took the loss for the Lions.
Florida Memorial returns to action on Friday against the University of South Carolina Beaufort in Beaufort, SC.
