Florida Memorial University women's basketball team (7-11, 5-3 TSC) roll pass Johnson & Wales University Saturday afternoon at the FMU Wellness Center. The win is the fifth straight for the Lady Lions.
Florida Memorial led 15-10 at the ten-minute mark of the first half. But Johnson & Wales never allowed the Lady Lions to pull away. Florida Memorial entered the locker room up 32-28.
In the second half, both team's offenses continued to exchange baskets, with FMU leading by as much as 6 points. With less than 3 minutes to go, Johnson & Wales made a run and tie up the game, The Lady Lions slowed the tempo, controlled the clock, and scored down the stretch to close out the game and seal the win.
Ashley Henry led the Lions with 24 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assist and 3 steals.
S'kadrah Woods had 11 points and 2 rebounds, while
Andrisia Sweeting scored 10 points.
