Florida Memorial University men's basketball team (1-2) traveled to Denmark, South Carolina to take on the Tigers of Voorhees College.
The Lions fought hard in this contest but the Tigers were too much for the Lions to handle as Voorhess College defeated Florida Memorial University 88-65.
The stats for this game show that both teams matched up well as FMU had 34 rebounds compared to Voorhees with 36, FMU had 21 points off of turnovers and Voorhees had 19. The story in this game is the difference with the scoring from the players coming off the bench and the free-throw percentage shooting. The Tigers coming from the bench scored 43 points while holding the Lions to 30 points. The FMU Lions went to the free-throw line 11 times making only 5 (45.5%) while the Tigers went to the line 23 times and making 14 (60.9%).
Leading the way for the Lions was
Jordan Martin with 15 points and
William Phelps with 12 points.
The Lions will be on the road again today, Friday, at Edward Waters College in Jacksonville, at 8:00 p.m.
