The Lions were conquered by Florida National University at the FMU Wellness Center, 77-100
The Lions were asked to nominate someone that has been a difference maker in their lives and they chose Dr. Ben Wongsaroj who has served, helped, guided, and mentored FMU students for over 30 years. Dr. Wongsaroj participated in pregame activities, was introduced at pregame, and sat on the bench for the game as he was named the Honorary Coach.
In the first half, the Lions were down early as FNU went on a run and led by as much 21 points. However, the Lions would claw their way back into this game and went into halftime down by only 2 points, 43-45. In the second half, one could see that the Lions were shorthanded with not many subs to give the regulars a break. They had gotten down early in this game and spent a lot of energy early to get back into it and it affected them.
Leading the way for the Lions was
William Phelps with 22 points. Charlie Nedd-Araujo and
Jordan Martin each had 16 points.
The Lions will travel just a few blocks from campus as they take on St. Thomas University on Saturday, Jan. 19th, at 4:00.
GO LIONS!!!
