(MIAMI SHORES, FLA) -- Taking a break from conference play, the Florida Memorial men's soccer team took on NCAA Division II opponent Barry University, Tuesday, October 1.
The Lions loss 1-3 to the Buccaneers on the road to bring their overall record to 2-5.
With home field advantage, Barry University scored the first goal of the match at the 9:22 mark.
FMU's senior Edwin McFarlane got the Lions on the board in the 15th minute with an assist from freshman
Paolo Caro.
The first half ended with the scored tied at one.
In the 69th minute the Buccaneers would take a 2-1 lead over the Lions and over seven minutes later they would increase that lead to 3-1.
The Lions took seven shots in the match compared to 23 from their opponent. Sophomore goalie
Angel Garcia made six saves in the match.
FMU will return to conference play when they take on Warner University, Wednesday, October 2 at 3:00 P.M.
