(BABSON PARK, Fla.) -- Despite holding their opponent scoreless in the second half, the men's soccer team fell 2-3 to Webber International, Wednesday, October 30.
The Lions got off to a slow start allowing three Warrior goals in the first 45 minutes of the game. Webber first got on the board at the 16:15 mark to take the lead.
Another home team goal came less than 10 minutes later giving the Warriors a 2-0 lead.
Even though the Lions out-shot the Warriors 10-9 in the first the half, Webber would add another goal 37 minutes into the game.
FMU was able to put one in the back of the net before the half when senior
Caleb Acosta netted a pass from freshman
Carlos Estrada.
After the break the Lions put a halt to the Webber offense at the goal. Although the Warriors took 11 shots, none of them were able to put points on the board.
The Lions scored their second goal seven minutes and 22 seconds into the second half. The points came from senior Jose Ramirez and was assisted by
Luis Martinez.
Goalkeeper, sophomore
Angel Garcia collected nine saves in the match.
FMU will host Southeastern University for their senior day, Saturday, November 2 at 3PM.
