The Lions of Florida Memorial University basketball team (5-24, 3-14 TSC) were throttled by Southeastern University (19-8, 12-5 TSC) on Thursday night at Lakeland, FL.
The Fire is nation's 20th ranked team in the NAIA and currently in 2nd place in The Sun Conference standings. As the regular season is coming to a close the Fire were looking to take advantage of an FMU Lions team who has not been playing well as of late and they did just that. The Fire defeated the Lions 72-118 and had 4 players score in double digits. One special double digit performance came from the Fire's Quennel Francis who had a night with 41 points.
The Lions could not get much going in this game as the Fire led wire to wire. The Lions shot 36% from the field, 14% from behind the 3-point line, and 84% from the free-throw line.
Leading the way for the Lions were
Jordan Martin with 24 points and
Eugene Harvey with 14 points.
The Lions will look to end the regular season with a victory as they will take on Ave Maria on Saturday, Feb. 16th at 6:00 p.m. at the FMU Wellness Center.
