The Lions of Florida Memorial University (5-21, 3-12 TSC) lost a home conference match-up to Webber International University (12-15, 3-12 TSC).
In the first half the Lions
William Phelps had 12 points while only playing fourteen minutes, shooting 4-6 from the field and 2-3 from 3-point range. The Lions shot 39% from the field and 30% from 3-point range as a team, in the first half. The score at halftime was 42-46 in favor of the Warriors.
In the second half the Lions would roar and claw their way to within 2 points of the lead with just under four minutes to play but the Warriors put the Lions away using an 11-1 point run. The Lions final shooting percentages in this game were, 36% from the field, 32% from 3-point range, and 66% from the charity stripe. The Lions only had two players in double digit scoring, William Phleps with 22 points, and
Omar Outar with 18 points.
The Lions will travel to Lake Wales, FL to take on Warner University on Saturday, Feb. 9th, at 4:00 p.m.
