The Florida Memorial University Lions basketball (5-23, 3-13 TSC) were throttled by 16th ranked Warner University on Saturday afternoon.
The Lions traveled to Warner University for a conference match-up against the Royals. The Lions were only able to keep up with the 16th ranked Royals for a few minutes in the first half as the Royals built a 9 point lead in the first half. In the second half, the Royals led by as much as 17 points with just under two minutes to play. Eventually, the Royals would put away the Lions by capturing a 16 point victory, 57-73.
The difference in this game was the points scored in the paint, the Royals had 44 points while the Lions had 18 points. The Royals also owned the glass both on offense and defense, out-rebounding the Lions 28-32.
The Lions shot 42% from the field, 38% from 3-point range, and 67% from the charity stripe. The Lions only had two players scoring in double digits,
Jordan Martin had 16 points, and
Eugene Harvey had 13 points.
The Lions will be on the road next Thursday, Feb. 14th at Southeastern University at 7:30 p.m.
