The Lions of Florida Memorial University improved their record to 19-13, 7-8 TSC by beating the Gyrenes of Ave Maria University 8-1. The Lions currently are in the 6th spot in The Sun Conference standing with a 2-game lead.  
The Lions jumped all over the Gyrenes starting pitcher and chased him out the game with one out in the third inning tagging him for 7 runs. At the end of three innings of baseball, the Lions had a 7-0 lead taking advantage of 2 errors, drawing 3 walks, stealing 4 bases, and earning 5 hits. 
The score remained 7-0 in favor of the Lions until the top half of the seventh inning when the Gyrenes scored 1 run to make the score 7-1. The Lions would score another run in the bottom of the seventh inning when 
Luis Rivera singled to right field scoring 
Yunior Sanchez. 
Carlos Alcon improved his record to 3-4 pitching 5 innings and allowing just 2 hits. 
Ian Romano and 
Kyle Parks pitched 2 innings each to keep the score intact and allow the Lions to earn the victory. 
The Lions will be on the road to start a 3-game series with Keiser University on Friday, March 29th. Keiser University is currently in the 4th spot in The Sun Conference standings with a one game lead on the Lions.
